The Alps Europe website is published by the Alpine Tourist Organization which is sponsored by the Governmentss of Austria, France, Germany, Italy and Switzerland. It is organized into the following main sections: General Inforamation, Summer in the Alps, Winter in the Alps, Experiences, Travel Specials, Newsletter Registration, and Special Offers.

The website promotes the thousands of lakes and mountains in the alpine region, the fauna and flora, the villages, resorts, and well known cities, and cultural events and musical festivals.

The Experiences section contains illustrated profiles of 35 popular tourist destinations within the alpine region, including Bad Gastein, Graz, Courchevel, Oberammergau, Valle d'Aosta, and Lucerne. There are also four illustrated feature articles on: Art of the Swiss Alps, Austrian Alps, Summit Fever, and Summer in Switzerland.
