We have selected National Arbor Day Foundation as the world's very best website on American Trees.

The National Arbor Day Foundation is a US non-profit organization whose mission is to inspire people to plant, nurture, and celebrate trees. Its vision is of a world where trees and forests are abundant, healthy, and sustainable, and highly valued by all people.

Every state of the USA has its own Arbor Day, on which the public participate in the planting of trees. There are also Arbor days around the world. The National Arbor Day Foundation is based in Nebraska City, Nebraska, USA.
The National Arbor Day Foundation website is organized into the following main sections: Trees, Arbor Day, Members, Tree Programs, Media, Arbor Day Farm, Shop, and Take Action. There is also a Tree Learning section, including a Tree Guide with information on many commonly planted landscape trees, and an online guide to Tree Identification. Other sections cover Tree Care Trips, and Tree Resources.
The Tree Guide section contains illustrated articles on more than 100 trees found in North America. For each tree there is a map of the USA showing distribution, and information on Type of Tree, Mature Tree Height, Mature Tree Spread, Tree Height Variations, Tree Growth Rate, and necessary Climatic Conditions.
