ABOUT 'ARCTIC CIRCLE'
The Arctic Circle website is produced by Norman Chance of the University of Connecticut, USA. The project originated at a symposium at the University of Connecticut in 1995. The aim of the Arctic Circle website is to promote interest in the Arctic around three main themes: natural resources, history & culture, and social equity and environmental justice.
The Arctic Circle website is organized into the following main sections: Natural Resources, History & Culture, Social Equity & Environmental Justice, Museum, and Virtual Classroom. Each section contains several illustrated articles.
Other sections cover: Introduction, Resources, GIS/Maps, Search, and Featured Site. The Resources section includes links to relevant websites in groups which include: Bibliographic & Research Databases, Educational Programs & Institutions, Environmental Organizations, Literature, Media, and Music.
