ABOUT 'IAAF'

The International Association of Athletic Federations (IAAF), based in Monaco, is the world umbrella body for the governance of athletics. It was founded in 1912 as the International Amateur Athletic Federation; its name was changed in 2001, reflecting the move away from amateurism to embrace professional athletes.
