ABOUT 'KEN SPELMAN RARE BOOKS'

 

The Ken Spelman website is published by Ken Spelman Rare Books of 70 Micklegate, York YO1 6LF, England. The business, which was established in 1948, is operated by Peter Miller and Tony Fothergill. Its site has been used as a bookshop since the beginning of the twentieth century. The two lower floors contain the stock of out of print books, high quality remaindered books, and a gallery area showing English water colours. There are two rare book rooms, and a bookbinding workshop at the top of the building.

 

The Ken Spelman website is organised into the following main sections: Buying Antiquarian Books, Selling Antiquarian Books, Browing by Subject, Help, Catalogues, and Press Articles.

 

The Buying Antiquarian Books section enables users to search more than 12,0000 rare and out of print books. There are also subject listings covering the following categories: Architecture, Art & Design, Gardens & Landscape, Italy & the Grand Tour, Travel in England Wales and Scotland, Literature & History, Manuscript Material, Yorkshire Books, Science & Philosophy.
