ABOUT 'ALAN HISLOP ENGRAVED GLASS'

 

Alan Hislop has been a glass engraver since 1985, and is based in Horsford, a small village just north of Norwich in Norfolk, England. He specialises in hand engraving, multi depth sand carving, shading and polishing techniques. He also undertakes gilding and ceramics.

 

The Alan Hislop website is organised into the following main sections: Stemware, Tankards, Tumblers, Mixers, Tots & Shots, Decanters, Jugs, Bowles, Vases, Desk Top, Candle Lamps, Photo Frames, Trophies, Plaques, Optical Crystal, and Gift Ideas.

 

There is a Gallery section, with examples of Alan Hislop's glass engraving work. These include: a glass panel with a drawing of a recumbent dog, engraved by hand using rotary diamond drill on 6mm plate glass with the surrounding area lightly sandblasted; two 6' 6" sandblasted glass door panels for a local Indian restaurant with images of the Taj Mahal; a replacement etched window panel to replace a broken panel 60 years old; and a hand cut lead crystal bowl with hand engraved image of a church.
