ABOUT 'WESTCOUNTRY ORGANICS'
The Westcountry Organics website is produced by a family organic farm based at Tedburn St.Mary, Exeter, Devon EX6 6AW, England. The farm is Soil Association certified. The land on which crops are grown is farmed without the use of synthetic insecticides, fungicides, herbicides, or fertilisers. Animals are reared in an environmentally friendly atmosphere, and are fed with organically grown forage. Produce is free from artificial chemicals, additives, genetic modifications and growth hormones.
The Westcountry Organics online store is organised in three main sections: Vegetables & Fruit, Organic Meat, and Organic Dairy.
Organic meat from Westcountry Organics comes from its herd of Ruby Red Devons and Ruby Red Devon Crossbreds. All the cattle are born and bred on the farm, and are fed on forage and cereals produced on the farm.
Westcountry Organics supplies fresh home-grown in-season vegetables delivered to your door in boxes of three sizes. These include Staple Vegetables, Salads, Roots, Herbs, Oriental Vegetables, and Others. Staple Vegetables include potato, carrots, cabbage, Brussels sprouts, leeks, and onions. Salads include tomato, cucumber, lettuce, mizuna, mustard, peppers, rocket and salad onion. Roots include bunch carrots, parsnip, celeriac, artichokes, mooli, and kohlrabi. Herbs include parsley, basil, coriander, fennel, and chervil. Oriental Vegetables include pak choi, chinese leaves, and chinese mustard. Others include courgette, beetroot, aubergine, mange tout peas, rhubarb, sweet corn, Florence fennel, pumpkin, squash, and edible flowers.
The Dairy section offers Godminster Organic Cheddar Cheese and Yeo Valley Organic Butter.
