ABOUT 'SURF STATION'

The Surf Station website is judged by us to be America's best website for buying surfboards. It is published by Tory Strange, owner of the Surf Station store in St.Augustine, Florida, USA. Tory Strange spent the 1970s surfing, and teaching surfing to work his way through college. He was a surf rat, hiking from beach to beach, whose biggest problems in life were whether to eat the special at O'steen's, or Shiver's for lunch, and what time to leave to catch Vilano at high tide.

In 1984 he got a surprise acceptance of his unsolicited offer to buy the Amoco gas station at the corner of the State Park in St.Augustine, and the Surf Station store was born. He continued to sell gas, alongside a full blown surfing store.
