The National Academy of Engineering (NAE) of the USA is based in Washington DC. It is the portal for all the engineering activities of the National Academy of Sciences, the Institute of Medicine, and the National Research Council. The NAE website is organized in the following main sections: Engineering Projects, Engineering Publications, News & Events, About the NAE, and Awards.
The NAE also produces several subsidiary websites which are linked from the main NAE website. These include the Grainger Challenge, a competition with a first prize of $1m to design sustainable and economic water treatment systems for arsenic-contaminated groundwater wells in Bangladesh.
