The Grand Central website is
published by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, which leases Grand
Central Terminal from its owners, American Premier Underwriters. American
Premier Underwriters changed its name from Penn Central in 1994, to reflect the
shift in its operations from railways to insurance.
The Grand Central website is a comprehensive resource about Grand Central
Terminal, New York City, colloquially known as Grand Central Station. The
website is organized into the following main sections: Food, Shops, Grand
Central Tours, Events, and Grand Central History. The Tours section contains
ingenious interactive plans of all three levels: Balcony, Main Concourse, and
Lower. These plans can be panned and zoomed using the cursor. Further
information is available by clicking on points of interest. There is also a
vendor page on the Grand Central website for each of more than 100 shops and
restaurants within Grand Central. The Tours section includes downloadable directions for a
Walking Tour, containing detailed descriptions of key features including the
Clock, the Sky Ceiling, the Two Grand Staircases, and the Chandeliers. There is

The History section contains a set of ten detailed illustrated articles on the
history of Grand Central Terminal, from the advent of the railroad in New York
