We have selected National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration as the world's very best website on Hurricanes.

The National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is part of the US Department of Commerce. Its hurricanes website is a comprehensive information resource about hurricanes.

The website contains news articles on hurricanes, and a section on Weather Watches, Warnings & Forecasts. There is a link to the NOAA National Hurricane Center, which maintains a continuing watch on tropical cyclones over the Atlantic, Caribbean, Gulf of Mexico, and the Easter Pacific. Other sections cover Hurricanes & Climate Research Information, Storm Names, and Daily Color Satellite Images of Atlantic Ocean Storms.

There is a section on Preparedness Guides, including a downloadable brochure on Hurricane Basics. Other articles include Hurricanes Unleashing Nature's Fury, providing safety information from the American Red Cross, NOAA, and FEMA. There is also a Historic Weather Service Album, with early satellite imagery, damage photos, and graphics, and a Hurricane Hunters in Action section with photos of aircraft used in hurricane research.
