ABOUT 'THE POTTERIES'
The Potteries website is produced by Steve Birks of Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England, who describes his hobbies as Alto Saxophone, Whisky, Reading, Cycling, and Local History. He observes that nobody, on their deathbed, ever says 'I wish I had spent more time at the office'. The Potteries website, which is devoted to the local history of Stoke on Trent, is organised in three main sections: Pottery, History, and Photos.
The website contains a substantial section on Josiah Wedgwood. This consists of an illustrated biographical article, with embedded links to subsidiary illustrated articles on places, people, and types of pottery. The places include the main factories which Josiah Wedgwood used. The people include Wedgwood's relatives, friends and colleagues.
