ABOUT 'MUSEUM OF SCIENCE, BOSTON'

The Museum of Science, Boston is one of the world's leading science museums. Under the leadership of Bradford Washburn, who was Director from 1939 to 1980, the former New England Museum of Natural History was transformed into a modern science and technology center based at Science Park, Boston. Washburn died in January 2007 at the age of 96.

The Museum of Science website contains a substantial virtual exhibition on Leonardo da Vinci. It is organized into the following main sections: Leonardo @ the Museum, Renaissance Man, Exploring Leonardo, and Multimedia Zone.

The website includes a photographic and video record of the exhibition 'Leonardo da Vinci: Scientist, Inventor, Artist' that visited the Museum of Science in 1997. The Renaissance Man section contains an illustrated biographical article on Leonardo da Vinci, with subsidiary articles on Leonardo da Vinci as Scientist, as Inventor, and as Artist. The Exploring Leonardo section is a resource for students and teachers.
