The Tolstoy Studies Journal is a refereed journal published annually by the Tolstoy Society of North America. The Journal was founded in 1988 by Kathleen Parthe of the University of Rochester, New York, USA. The current editor is Michael A Denner of Stetson University, De Land, Florida, USA.

Leo Tolstoy is one of the world's great novelists, his two most notable novels being 'War and Peace' and 'Anna Karenina'. With the scope, breadth, and vivid descriptions of Russian life, they stand at the peak of realistic fiction. He was born in 1828, and died in 1910.
