ABOUT THE HISTORICAL MODEL RAILWAY SOCIETY

 

With 2000 members worldwide, the Historical Model Railway Society (HMRS) is an educational charity whose aim is to gather and distribute UK railway information. It has a large library and photographic collection, and has published a series of authoritative books, mainly concentrating on railway liveries.



The HMRS website has sections on Books, Drawings, Journal, Photographs, Stationery and Transfers. Catalogues of sections of the photographic collection may be downloaded free online. There is also a section on Education, and a directory of links to other railway modelling websites. The HMRS has a museum and study centre, co-located with its library, at the Midland Railway Centre at Butterley, near Ripley, Derbyshire, England.
