ABOUT THE AMERICAN QUILTER'S SOCIETY

 

The American Quilter's Society (AQS) was founded by Meredith and Bill Schroeder, and is based in Paducah, Kentucky, USA. Meredith Schroeder, who has written seven books on quilting, is the President of the Society.



The aim of the AQS is to promote quilting nationally and internationally. It does this through a program of book publishing, distribution, magazine publishing, quilt shows and competitions, appraisal certification, and a newsletter.

The main sections of the AQS website cover: Membership, Patterns, Member Resources, Calendar of Events, News, Bulletin Board, Appraisal Program, and Quilt Museum. The Patterns section contains downloadable quilting patterns, some of which are free to all, and some of which are accessible only to subscribing members. The Appraisal Program covers training and certification for quilt appraisers, and facilities for submitting quilts for appraisal.
