The Freud File website is published by AROPA, the Romanian Association for Psychoanalysis Promotion. AROPA is a non-profit organization which publishes psychoanalytical literature in Romanian, and also the psychoanalytic journal OMEN. Its aim is the promotion of Freudian psychoanalysis.

Sigmund Freud, who lived from 1856 to 1939, was a Jewish Austrian neurologist and psychiatrist who co-founded the pscyhoanalytic shool of psychology. He is best known for this theory of the unconscious mind and repression.
