We have selected Zambia Tourism as the world's very best website on the Victoria Falls.
The Zambia Tourism website is published by the Zambia National Tourism Board. It includes a substantial section on the Victoria Falls, which are situated on the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe. The Victoria Falls, which form the largest single curtain of water in the world, are about one mile wide and 100 metres tall.
It is estimated that more than 500 million cubic feet of water plummet over the edge every minute. The wide basalt cliff, over which the Falls thunder, turns the Zambezi river from its wide placid form above the Falls to a ferocious torrent cutting through dramatic gorges.
The illustrated section of the Zambia Tourism website dealing with the Victoria Falls covers: Introduction, Sightseeing, Walks, Getting There, and Where to Stay. There are sectons on Tours from Livingstone, and the Creation of the Falls. There is also a section on What to Do, covering: Whitewater Rafting, Bungee Jumping, Canoeing, Horseback Trails, River Boarding, Abseiling, Tandem Kayaking, Microlighting over the Victoria Falls, River Safaris, Elephant Back Safaris, Jet Boating, and Golf.
