ABOUT 'VGGALLERY.COM'

The VGGallery.com website is produced by website developer and van Gogh enthusiast David Brooks, who lives in Toronto, Canada. Brooks has been studying van Gogh's life and works since the mid 1990s; he is the author of 'Vincent van Gogh: The Complete Works', a catalogue raisonne of the works of Vincent van Gogh. In the course of his research, Brooks has followed in the footsteps of van Gogh in the streets of London, Paris, Arles, Amsterdam, Nuenen, Zundert, and The Hague.

The VGGallery website is a comprehensive resource on Vincent van Gogh. It displays the entire recorded body van Gogh's works and letters. These comprise over 800 paintings, over 1000 drawings, 150 watercolors, 10 lithographs and etchings, and over 100 sketches from van Gogh's personal correspondence. There is also a world map showing all the museums that house works by van Gogh.

The website is organized into the following main sections: The Gallery, Categories, Resources, and Vincent van Gogh CD Rom. The Categories section organizes van Gogh's work chronologically, by place, and by subject matter. The home page is available in 17 languages.
