ABOUT 'ENOTES'

The eNotes website was founded in 1998 by two recent college graduates who saw the need for quality study guides available online. It is based in Seattle, Washington, USA. Starting with the works of Shakespeare, eNotes.com now offers study guides to over 4,000 works of literature and literary movements.

In addition to literature, eNotes now publishes study guides in Science, Law & Politics, History, Business, Social Sciences, Health, Arts, and for College Prep.

The eNotes section on William Shakespeare contains articles on many of William Shakespeare's plays, and on his sonnets. There are also articles on Shakespeare Criticism and Shakespeare Essays. More general Shakespeare articles include: Shakespeare and Warfare, Shakespeare's Dramatic Methods, Shakespeare's Tragedies, and Witches and Evil Spirits.

There is a William Shakespeare biography, a Shakespeare chronology, an article on the Globe Theatre, 100 Shakespeare quotations, and a Shakespeare A to Z encyclopedia with more than 250 entries.
